Wooster square's cherry blossoms have been celebrated each spring since 1973, when 72 yoshino japanese cherry blossom trees were planted by the new haven historic. Events include the meriden daffodil festival, the international festival of arts & ideas, the potato & corn festival & new haven grand prix.
